Additional Information
SNAP benefits stolen on or after December 21, 2024, cannot be replaced using federal funds due to the expiration of statutory authority on December 20, 2024. However, if your benefits were stolen before this date, you may still be eligible for a replacement.
To report stolen benefits, contact your state agency by phone, email, or in person. Online reporting will be available in the future. Households have 90 calendar days from the state’s plan start date (July 17, 2023) to submit a retroactive claim. For recent thefts, you must report the loss within 30 days of discovering it and submit a claim form within 10 calendar days of the report.
The state will validate your claim within 10 business days after the report or 2 business days after you submit the claim form—whichever is later. Approved benefits will be issued within 10 business days of the report or 2 business days after the claim is submitted. Remember to request a replacement EBT card to avoid further loss.
