Additional Information
SNAP benefits stolen on or after December 21, 2024, are not eligible for replacement due to the expiration of federal authority on December 20, 2024. If your benefits were stolen before this cutoff date, you may still qualify for a replacement—reach out to your state agency as soon as possible to report the theft.
For retroactive claims, households had 30 calendar days from March 14, 2023, to submit. Ongoing claims must be filed within 30 days of discovering the theft, with the official claim form submitted within 10 days of reporting. Claims can be submitted by mail, online, or in person at local offices. The state has 10 calendar days to validate the claim.
If approved, benefits are issued within 2 business days of approval. To prevent future theft, a new EBT card must be requested.
