Additional Information
The federal authority to replace stolen SNAP benefits expired on December 20, 2024. Any SNAP benefits stolen on or after December 21, 2024, are no longer eligible for replacement using federal funds. If your benefits were stolen before that date, contact your state agency to report the theft.
If you previously reported theft, you’ll receive a claim form by mail and must return it within 10 calendar days of receiving it. Households that haven’t reported theft have 30 calendar days from the state’s plan start date (June 21, 2023) to report the incident, and then 10 calendar days from the report date to submit a retroactive claim. For new thefts, report the incident within 30 calendar days of discovering it and submit the claim form within 10 calendar days of the report. Theft can be reported by phone, mail, or in person, and claims must be submitted by mail or in person at local offices.
The state has 60 calendar days from the date of the initial report to validate the claim. If approved, replacement benefits will be issued within 60 calendar days, and you must replace your EBT card.
