Additional Information
The federal authority to replace stolen SNAP benefits ended on December 20, 2024. Therefore, any benefits stolen on or after December 21, 2024, cannot be reimbursed using federal funds. If you believe your benefits were stolen before that date, promptly contact your state agency to report the theft.
Households have 60 calendar days from the state’s plan start date of October 1, 2023, to file a retroactive claim. For new thefts, report the incident within 30 calendar days of discovery and submit a claim form within 10 business days of reporting. Theft must be reported by phone, while claims can be submitted by mail, in person, or via drop box at local offices. The state has 15 calendar days to validate each claim. Once approved, benefits are issued within 10 calendar days, and you must replace your EBT card.
