Additional Information
Federal support for replacing stolen SNAP benefits ended on December 20, 2024. Any SNAP benefits stolen on or after December 21, 2024, are not eligible for replacement using federal funds.
If your benefits were stolen before that date, contact your state agency to report the theft. For retroactive claims, households had 60 calendar days from the release of the state’s memo (August 21, 2023) to submit a claim. For regular claims, theft must be reported within 30 calendar days of discovery. Claims may be submitted by mail, online (in certain districts), or in person at local offices. The state has 30 calendar days to validate submitted claims.
Once a claim is approved, replacement benefits are issued within 30 calendar days. You must replace your EBT card to regain access to your benefits.
