The federal authority to replace stolen SNAP benefits expired on December 20, 2024. Any benefits stolen on or after December 21, 2024, are not eligible for replacement with federal funds. If your SNAP benefits were stolen before this date, you should contact your state agency immediately to report the theft.
Households had 30 calendar days from the plan start date (October 18, 2023) to submit a retroactive claim. Regular claims must be submitted within 30 days of discovering the theft. Theft should be reported via email, mail, or in person, and claims must be submitted using the same methods. The state has 10 calendar days to validate a claim. If approved, benefits are issued immediately. Make sure to replace your EBT card to protect your benefits.
