Additional Information
The federal authority to replace stolen SNAP benefits ended on December 20, 2024. Therefore, benefits stolen on or after December 21, 2024, are no longer eligible for replacement with federal funds. If your benefits were stolen before this date, report the theft to your state agency as soon as possible.
Households had 90 calendar days from the state’s plan start date (October 31, 2023) to submit a retroactive claim. For skimming incidents that occurred between November 6, 2022, and May 1, 2024, regular claims must be submitted within 60 calendar days. For skimming that occurred between May 2, 2024, and September 30, 2024, the submission window shortens to 30 calendar days. Claims can be submitted online, by phone, or in person at local offices. The state has 15 business days to validate each claim.
Once a claim is approved, replacement benefits are issued within 3 business days. Be sure to request a replacement EBT card as well.
