Additional Information
The federal authority to replace stolen SNAP benefits ended on December 20, 2024. As a result, any benefits stolen on or after December 21, 2024, cannot be replaced using federal funds. If your benefits were stolen before that date, promptly contact your state agency to report the theft.
Households had 30 calendar days from the state’s plan start date (May 24, 2023) to submit a retroactive claim. For regular claims, theft must be reported within 30 calendar days of discovery, and the claim form must be submitted within 30 days of reporting. Theft can be reported by phone, mail, email, or in person, and claims may be submitted via mail, email, or in person at local offices.
Once submitted, the state has 10 calendar days to validate the claim. Approved benefits will be issued either within 10 calendar days after approval or within 2 business days of submission—whichever comes later. Be sure to replace your EBT card.
