Additional Information
Federal law allowing states to replace stolen SNAP benefits expired on December 20, 2024. This means that benefits stolen on or after December 21, 2024, are no longer eligible for replacement using federal funds. If your benefits were stolen before this date, you may still be able to file a claim.
To report stolen SNAP benefits, contact your state agency. For retroactive claims, households had 30 calendar days from the start of the state’s plan (July 13, 2023) to submit a report. For regular claims, theft must be reported within 30 calendar days of discovery. Claims can be submitted by mail, phone, online, or in person at local offices. The state is required to validate the claim within 10 business days.
If approved, replacement benefits will be issued within 10 business days of submission. You must replace your EBT card to access the reissued funds.
