Additional Information
Federal authority to replace stolen SNAP benefits expired on December 20, 2024. This means any benefits stolen on or after December 21, 2024, are no longer eligible for replacement using federal funds.
To report stolen benefits, contact your state agency. For retroactive claims, households had 30 calendar days from the state’s plan start date (August 1, 2023) to file. Regular claims must be reported within 30 days of discovering the theft, with the claim form submitted within an additional 10 calendar days. Reports can be made by phone or in person, and claims submitted by mail, online, or in person at local offices. States have 10 business days to validate the claim. If approved, replacement benefits are issued within two business days of approval. Be sure to replace your EBT card.
