Additional Information
The federal authority to replace stolen SNAP benefits expired on December 20, 2024. Therefore, any SNAP benefits stolen on or after December 21, 2024, are no longer eligible for reimbursement through federal funds. If your benefits were stolen before that date, it’s important to act quickly.
To report the theft, contact your state agency. Households had 12 months from July 3, 2023, to file a retroactive claim. For new incidents, regular claims must be submitted within 30 days of discovering the theft. Claims can be submitted by mail, online, phone, or in person at your local office. The state has 10 calendar days to validate the claim, and benefits for approved claims are issued within 10 calendar days after approval. Be sure to replace your EBT card.
