Additional Information
The federal authority to replace stolen SNAP benefits expired on December 20, 2024. As a result, SNAP benefits stolen on or after December 21, 2024, are not eligible for replacement with federal funds. If your benefits were stolen before that date, you should contact your state agency to report the theft.
Households had 60 calendar days from the start of the state’s plan (September 25, 2023) to submit a retroactive claim. For current cases, claims must be submitted within 30 days of discovering the theft. Reports and claims can be submitted by phone, email, online, or in person at local offices. The state has 10 business days to validate retroactive claims and 45 business days to process regular ones. Once approved, benefits are reissued within 45 business days, and you must replace your card.
