Additional Information
The authority to replace stolen SNAP benefits expired on December 20, 2024, which means that benefits stolen on or after December 21, 2024, are no longer eligible for replacement with federal funds. If you believe your benefits were stolen, you should immediately contact your state agency to report the theft.
Households had 30 calendar days from the start of the state’s plan (June 2, 2023) to submit a retroactive claim. For regular cases, theft must be reported within 30 days of discovery, followed by submission of the claim form within 10 additional days. You can report and submit your claim via mail, phone, or in person at your local office. Once submitted, the state has 30 business days to validate the claim.
Approved replacement benefits are issued within 30 business days from the date of claim submission. While re-PINning your card is required, it is highly recommended that you replace your card for added security.
