Additional Information
The legal authority to replace stolen SNAP benefits using federal funds ended on December 20, 2024. As a result, benefits stolen on or after December 21, 2024, are no longer eligible for federal replacement. If your benefits were stolen, you should report the theft directly to your state agency.
For retroactive claims, households have 90 calendar days from the start of their state’s replacement plan (September 13, 2023) to submit. Regular claims must be submitted within 90 days of when the theft was discovered. Claims can be submitted by mail, fax, email, or in person at local offices. Once submitted, the state has 10 business days to validate your claim.
If your claim is approved, replacement benefits will be issued within 10 business days. To receive your benefits, you must replace your EBT card.
