Additional Information
If your SNAP benefits were stolen before December 21, 2024, you may still be eligible for a replacement—however, benefits stolen on or after that date cannot be replaced due to the expiration of federal authority on December 20, 2024.
To report stolen benefits, contact your state agency by mail, email, phone, or in person. Households had 90 calendar days from the start of the state’s plan (July 1, 2023) to submit a retroactive claim. For current cases, report theft within 30 days of discovering it and submit a claim form within 10 business days of reporting. Claims must be submitted in person, but reasonable accommodations can be made for signature collection.
The state will validate claims within 10 business days of submission. An additional 10 business days may be granted in exceptional cases, but total processing time will not exceed 30 calendar days. If your claim is approved, replacement benefits will be issued within 2 days of approval. Be sure to replace your EBT card to prevent further misuse.
