Additional Information
Federal authorization to replace stolen SNAP benefits ended on December 20, 2024. This means that any benefits stolen on or after December 21, 2024, cannot be reimbursed using federal funds. If you suspect your benefits were stolen before this date, reach out to your state agency to report the theft.
Households had 90 calendar days from the state’s plan start date (May 31, 2023) to submit a retroactive claim. If you discover theft, you must report it within 30 calendar days and submit a completed claim form. Reports and claims must be made by mail or in person at local offices. The state has 10 calendar days to validate the claim.
Once approved, replacement benefits are issued no later than the day following the claim approval. Be sure to request a replacement EBT card as well.
