Additional Information
Federal authority to replace stolen SNAP benefits ended on December 20, 2024. This means benefits stolen on or after December 21, 2024, are not eligible for replacement with federal funds.
To report stolen SNAP benefits, contact your state agency. If you’re filing a retroactive claim, you had 90 calendar days from the plan’s start date (September 1, 2023) to submit your report. For regular claims, theft must be reported within 30 calendar days of discovery, followed by submission of a claim form within 10 additional calendar days. Reports and claims can be submitted by phone, mail, email, online, or in person at local offices. The state has 10 calendar days to validate your claim.
If approved, benefits are issued within 3 business days of claim approval. You must re-PIN your card, and the state recommends replacing your card to help protect future benefits.
