Additional Information
The authority to replace stolen SNAP benefits expired on December 20, 2024. As a result, any benefits stolen on or after December 21, 2024, cannot be reimbursed with federal funds. If your benefits were stolen before that date, you should promptly report the theft to your state agency.
For retroactive claims, households had 30 calendar days from August 24, 2023, to initiate a claim. If the claim form was accessed on the 30th day, there was a 10-day window to submit it. Regular claims must be filed within 10 days of discovering the theft. Reports and claims can be submitted by phone, mail, email, fax, or in person. Alternatively, you may request an interview with a Self-Reliance Specialist either in person or by phone. The state will validate claims within 10 calendar days, and approved benefits are issued within another 10 calendar days. You’ll also need to replace your card.
