Additional Information
The statutory authority to replace stolen SNAP benefits expired on December 20, 2024. This means that any benefits stolen on or after December 21, 2024, are not eligible for replacement using federal funds. If your benefits were stolen before that date, it’s important to act quickly and report the theft to your state agency.
Households had 60 calendar days from July 3, 2023 (the date the state started its plan), to submit a retroactive claim. For new thefts, you must report the incident within 30 calendar days of discovering it and submit your claim form within an additional 10 calendar days. Reports can be made by phone, mail, or in person, while claim forms can be submitted via mail, email, or in person at local offices. The state has 10 business days to validate the claim. Once approved, replacement benefits are issued within 10 business days. You must replace your EBT card to secure future benefits.
