Additional Information
The statutory authority to replace stolen SNAP benefits expired on December 20, 2024. Therefore, any benefits stolen on or after December 21, 2024, cannot be replaced using federal funds. If you suspect your SNAP benefits were stolen before this date, you should report the theft promptly to your state agency.
For claims related to theft, households had 30 days from the state’s plan start date (July 17, 2023) to submit a retroactive claim. Regular claims must be submitted within 30 calendar days of discovering the theft, either by mail or in person at a local office. The state has 30 calendar days to validate the claim, and if approved, benefits are issued within 30 calendar days of submission. Be sure to replace your EBT card to prevent future theft.
