Additional Information
The federal authority to replace stolen SNAP benefits expired on December 20, 2024. Therefore, benefits stolen on or after December 21, 2024, cannot be replaced using federal funds. If your benefits were stolen before that date, you should contact your state agency to report the theft and initiate a claim.
Households had 30 calendar days from the state’s plan start date (August 24, 2023) to submit a retroactive claim. If the claim form was accessed on the 30th day, you had an additional 10 days to return it. Regular claims must be submitted within 90 days of discovering the theft, with a 10-day grace period if the form is accessed on the 90th day. Claims can be submitted by mail, fax, or email. The state has 10 business days to validate your claim, and if approved, benefits will be issued within 10 business days. You must replace your card to access the benefits.
