Additional Information
The authority to replace stolen SNAP benefits expired on December 20, 2024. As a result, any benefits stolen on or after December 21, 2024, cannot be replaced using federal funds. If your benefits were stolen, it’s important to contact your county office promptly to report the theft.
Households had 60 calendar days from the date the state implemented its plan (July 3, 2023) to submit a retroactive claim. For regular claims, you must apply within 30 days of discovering the theft. Claims can be submitted by mail, email, phone, or in person at local offices. The state has 20 business days to validate the claim—10 days allotted for the county and 10 days for the state.
If your claim is approved, replacement benefits will be issued within 10 business days. To access these benefits, you’ll need to replace your EBT card.
