Additional Information
The ability to replace stolen SNAP benefits using federal funds ended on December 20, 2024. As a result, any SNAP benefits stolen on or after December 21, 2024, are no longer eligible for federal reimbursement. If your benefits were stolen, it’s important to promptly report the incident to your state agency.
Households had 60 calendar days from the state’s plan start date (September 30, 2024) to file a retroactive claim. Regular claims must be submitted within 30 calendar days of discovering the theft. Claims can be submitted through various channels, including mail, email, phone, in person at local offices, or any other valid transmission method. The state has up to 30 calendar days to review and validate submitted claims.
Once a claim is approved, replacement benefits are typically made available by midnight on the same day. To access these benefits, you must replace your EBT card.
