Additional Information
The authority to replace stolen SNAP benefits using federal funds expired on December 20, 2024. Therefore, any SNAP benefits stolen on or after December 21, 2024, cannot be replaced through federal support. If your benefits were stolen, it is important to contact your state agency as soon as possible to report the theft.
For retroactive claims, households had 90 calendar days from the state’s plan start date (June 19, 2023) to file. Regular claims must be submitted within 45 calendar days from the date the theft occurred. Claims may be submitted by mail, fax, phone, or in person at your local SNAP office. The state has 20 business days to process retroactive claims and 10 business days for regular claims.
Once a claim is approved and authorized, replacement benefits are typically issued by 5:00 AM the following day. To access the replacement benefits, you must replace your EBT card.
